Amy Weingartner is a Literary Agent & Consulting Editor at Screenland Literary Associates, where she focuses on storytelling and intellectual property development across film, television, publishing, comics, and graphic narratives.
She brings more than 25 years of experience across entertainment, publishing, editorial development, and licensed intellectual property, with a background that includes leadership and creative roles at Warner Bros./DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Disney Publishing Worldwide. Over the course of her career, Amy has developed and edited content spanning children’s books, YA fiction, comics, graphic novels, consumer magazines, and entertainment-based publishing programs tied to major global franchises and entertainment properties, with an emphasis on licensed books for all ages and formats.
Amy is known for her collaborative approach to story development, sharp editorial instincts, as well her enthusiasm and sense of humor. She is particularly drawn to projects that combine visual storytelling, franchise development, and adaptation-focused intellectual property.
In addition to her agency work, she is a writing coach, educator, and faculty leader who teaches screenwriting, creative writing, and storytelling development at both the Los Angeles Film School and AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts.
Every so often, she picks up a pen herself; her grown-up fiction and non-fiction work have appeared in The New York Times, The Massachusetts Review, and other outlets; and she is the published author of numerous books and comics for younger audiences.
